OnePlus publishes 2017 annual report: revenues and sales on the rise

OnePlus posted an infographic detailing its busy 2017. The company’s revenues doubled to $1.4 billion as phone sales grew 55% compared to 2016. OnePlus sells its phones in 32 countries and supports 24 languages and it had the #1 selling phone on Elisa, Finland’s top carrier.

The OnePlus community boasts over 1.3 million members with user registrations growing more than twofold since 2016. Fans met IRL in 40 pop-up events – with a combined 19,400 people waiting in line.
OnePlus has 776 employees spread across 18 countries. Fueled by over 18,000 cups of coffee, they worked over 200,000 hours and yet managed to eat only 268 pizzas and 87 birthday cakes. We think that’s something to improve on next year.

The Open Beta program boasts 111,000 users who helped squash 1,700 bugs. Check out the annual report for more details.

LG Shows Off ‘Tweet-TV’ Integrated Mobile DTV Handset

LG Shows Off ‘Tweet-TV’ Integrated Mobile DTV Handset

It seems as though social networking is making itself a part of every bit of our daily lives. Be it through easier sharing of information through integration with news apps, communications from corporate heads, or clicking a button to share what song your listening to, the medium has become almost synonymous with modern web-based technology. LG is looking to carry that idea even further with its latest mobile DTV (digital television) prototype handset and its “Tweet-TV” integration. As though the cool factor of an Android-based DTV packing phone wasn’t enough, LG has included programming in the DTV app to pull Twitter updates related to what you’re watching and display them on the screen. Now, granted, the accuracy of this has yet to be verified, and it is yet to be seen if this can be made actually useful…but as a geek, I’m always interested when technologies merge into something unique. LG will be demonstrating this handset at the National Association of Broadcasters this week, so we’ll see how warmly it’s received by the tech community.

It’s a Good Thing the World’s Thinnest Phone Has a Gorilla Glass Screen

It's a Good Thing the World's Thinnest Phone Has a Gorilla Glass Screen
When was the last time you could say that about an NEC product?
It'll run on Android 2.2 when it goes on sale mid-March with the NTT Docomo carrier, and will no doubt be a hit with Japanese girls (and slender businessmen who don't want to ruin the line of their suits.)
It's just 7.7mm thick, which topples the Samsung Galaxy S II from its pedestal—not a mean feat, you could say, when it only measured 8.49mm anyway. Other components that have been crammed into the 105g body include a 4-inch Gorilla Glass LCD screen with 854 x 480 resolution; a 5.1MP camera; 1Seg TV tuner; NFC tech, and the usual other sensors and connections.
Live outside of Japan? It's back to the Galaxy S II for you. [MobileCrunch]

iPhone and iPad will get a Dual core Graphics

iPhone and iPad will get a Dual core Graphics

Today Mashable has posted a post regarding Apple iPad and iPhone future version, actually its not a post but a rumor. According to this, The future version of iPhone & iPad will have a A4 chip with a dual-core graphics processing unit that will enable users to view extremely High Definition(even beyond that) content on their devices.
Most probably they will use a SGX543 GPU built by Imagination Technologies. But it is still a rumor and nothing is confirm yet. Another news from Mashable is that-
iPad 2 will have a much higher resolution screen than its predecessor.
The SGX543 graphics chip will be used along with dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU and it will make iPad a very powerful strong gadget device that will be able to do many other tasks than its predecessor along with playing extremely super quality HD video.
ipad
The main and unique feature of SGX543 is that if you will run the device at 200 MHz then it will deliver 35 million polygons per second and filtrate of 1 billion pixels per second.
Another good thing about SGX543 is that it supports Apple-Backed OpenCL specifications so it means it is compatible with Apple devices and it will offer a good performance to the device.
Appleinsider has posted a long story representing the complete picture and all the features in the much more details.
Some broad points are – This graphic chip will not only enhance games but also video processing that includes dynamic encoding decoding process. And this will allow Apple to easily upgrade to HDMI port.
Second is The SGX543 core is so powerful that it can run parallel as many as 16 cores together. And many more things.
So its look like boon for Apple gadgets. I think they are gearing up to beat other competitors specially recent 4G mobile releasing companies.

Sony Ericsson Vivaz 2 preview and its features

Sony Ericsson Vivaz 2 preview and its features

After so many recent developments in the mobile phone sector. We are back today with new Sony Ericsson gadget. This time we will talk about their new awaited phone Vivaz 2. This phone is reviewed by Eldar Murtazin of mobile-review and he has written a pretty good review about it.
As you know, Sony is known for producing stylish phones to match with GenX. Some of its phones are a great hit. It has many similarity with its predecessor Vivaz. Vivaz 2 is little bigger and heavy too. It is also currently known as MT15i. According to Eldar, more weight and bigger size makes it perfect and well balanced. The phone is powered by Google Android OS.
vivaz2
The phone has a Glossy shinning plastic case body so you may find your fingertips on its body. The phone has three buttons- one is Return key, second is Home key and the third is Menu option button. The phone has a light sensor which helps it to auto adjust its brightness according to the light quantity. The phone has two camera one at the front and second at the rear along with LED flash light just like any other modern mobile. The camera is nice and offers good quality photography. The speaker is placed at the bottom so the sound might decrease if you hold the handset in your hand. At the top, you will see a receiver, a flash camera and some other items that we normally don’t see in a normal phone.
On the top, there is a standard 3.5mm jack for connecting headset along with a microSD card slot. The screen has a 480×854 pixels resolution so its pretty good too. The phone is powered by 1500 mAh BA700 battery. The backup is quite good and optimal. The phone comes with USB, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity features so transferring is very easier.
It got 512MB of RAM and almost 300MB available for storage. The user interface is pretty good, some nice 3D apps are added and many default Android OS elements are replaced by Sony just like any other manufacturer does.
So the conclusion is its a nice mid size phone with some good features and specification and it can be a good competitor with other mobiles too

Blackberry Storm 3 Leaked

Blackberry Storm 3 Leaked

RIM isn’t ready to give up on the Storm just yet.  BGR got their hands on leaked images of what they’re saying is the Blackberry Storm 3.  Arg, enough already RIM.
In terms of specs, and despite the model name, which has long been regarded as a mistake by RIM, this version of the device is rounding out to do some heavy lifting.  The  big take aways?  A 1.2ghz processor and 3.7-inch 800×480 capacitive touchscreen.
Others specs include a 5 megapixel camera with 720p video mode, quad band GSM connectivity, microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 3G mobile hotspot, optical trackpad, 1230 mAh battery and Tri-band UMTS/HSPA support.
Word has it the Blackberry Storm 3 will launch sometime this September, but don’t count on it maintaining the Storm moniker, at least not internationally.
