First Black Shark gaming smartphone teaser reveals a curvy corner

We are eagerly awaiting to hear more about the Black Shark gaming smartphone. This is a Xiaomi-backed company that is planning to release a gaming-oriented smartphone to compete with the first-generation Razer phone.

The phone has already been spotted in a couple of benchmarks and an invitation has been sent out for an April 13 event in Beijing, China. The latest piece of news surrounding the Black Shark is a teaser that pulls back the covers on the corner of the phone, revealing a smartphone body with a large-curved corner, contrasting the Razer phone’s blocky appearance.

There is a power key on the side being teased, but no volume rocker, so we are expecting the volume rocker to be on the opposite side of the device. By contrast, we’ve seen many Chinese phone makers put the power key and volume buttons on the same side. The teaser translates to “Born to compete” and features a fencer with a sabre splitting their face and the phone down the middle, which sets the tone well for a gaming smartphone.

The phone is rumored to have a Snapdragon 845 and may come with between 6GB and 8GB of RAM and we’re hoping to see 256GB of internal storage to pack away all those games. We are also expecting a display supporting 120Hz refresh rates and HDR support. Otherwise, we don’t know too much more about the device’s hardware itself. We can’t wait to hear more about this once April 13 rolls around.

It’s a portable N64 mod known as the D64 and it’ll play multi-player games. The funny thing is that the D64 uses the five-inch LCD from the old Sony PS One, how about that? Each charge can generate up to three hours of play time.

Technology giant Nintendo said it will release its newest gaming device that is enabled with 3D imagery which can be used without wearing special glasses.  The hand-held gadget, which will be on sale in the US on Sunday, is priced at $250.
With 3DS, users can also take 3D photos and watch 3D movies from Neflix on its 3.5-inch screen.

Despite the notable features of this hand-held gaming device, some technology analysts said that Nintendo “will have a hard time competing against its rivals.”  The company has been popular after introducing Game Boy, although the growing competition especially from Apple iPod and other smartphones that have paved with game applications is posing a challenge particularly in terms of sales.
To have an edge to compete in the market, technology experts said that Nintendo has to offer better entertainment experiences to consumers.  According to a survey, the demand for DS devices has slowed over the past several years because of the introduction of smartphones that can also support complex gaming applications.
After introducing hand-held DS, Nintendo has sold approximately 145 million units worldwide.  Meanwhile, the company is expecting that the newest version 3DS will generate more sales compared to its predecessor DSi which was released in 2008.
